The company founded in 1989 and based in Switzerland, is a manufacturer of PC-based controller systems, designed for inkjet-imaging and personalisation in the graphical and mailing industry. After a two year development phase the company in January 2004 came up with its first inkjet printer, based on drop on demand (DOD) technology. Further inkjet printers where launched in spring the same year and were shown the first time to a much broader public at the DRUPA exhibition in May 2004.

Since then, manufacturing of Inkjets has become a veritable business and the inkjets turned out to be a perfect match and supplement to the company’s roots, the controllers. GT has always stuck to its policy to rather organise its worldwide sales through OEM’s and resellers than to develop its own sales channels.
